End of spring break
Saturday night in Manayunk often means pub crawl, so William wisely suggested heading up Ridge Avenue to find a dinner spot more suitable for us old fogies. Good call. We settled on Maria's Ristorante on Summit in Roxborough. The food was outstanding and the price reasonable. It was a very nice place to mark the end of spring break and to spend some much-needed quality time with William.

Retirement luncheon (Psychology)
The Villanova Psychology Department hosted a luncheon in my honor at Pond Restaurant in Radnor, PA on January 9th. There was excellent food, company, and conversation. I particularly appreciate the many tributes offered by my fellow faculty. Some were serious, some humorous, many were both. My comments similarly combined these two elements.
Welcoming 2009 in Media, PA
Once again friends gathered at the Iron Hill Brewery in Media ("Everybody's Hometown") for our annual New Year's Eve celebration. Just before midnight, we walked out onto State Street and a half a block west to Brodeur's to watch the famous ball drop.
Nana and the Snowman
One of the highlights of our annual post-Christmas trip to visit Paul's mother in Rhode Island, was taking "Nana" to see the Christmas display at Slater Park. It was the third time in as many days that she had been to the park, but she was no less interested. On this visit we got out and walked around a bit.
Christmas Eve 2008
Home for the holidays, with the exception of John, we celebrated Christmas Eve with a turkey (and salmon) dinner and gift exchange.
Thanksgiving dinner with the family
Thanksgiving dinner with the family is always a very special occasion. William was away and Alex had a last minute snafu and couldn't make it, but the rest of us gathered around the table to catch up on each other's news and to enjoy the festive meal. This year, in addition to the turkey, we had Brazil nut loaf en croute.
Villanova retirement celebration
My retirement celebration took place in the President’s Lounge of Villanova University on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. After more than forty-two years at Villanova, I have retired from my full-time tenure position and am transistioning into part-time work as a faculty adjunct. The Psychology Department
Father's Day 2008
Lansdowne Friends was the venue for a low-key Father's Day celebration this year. Amanda and John arrived for meeting after which we enjoyed the beautiful day outside, where Paul opened his gifts.
Barbara Clark memorial service and family reunion
My extended family gathered near Washington at the end of May 2008 to celebrate the life of my dear aunt Barbara McClenon Clark who died on December 18, 2007, in Florida.
Memorial Day cookout
Memorial Day turned out to be glorious weather-wise, and we were glad to be able to share it with our friends. Here are more photos. Alex, William, Kara (Alex’s roommate) and Maggie (Alex’s puppy) came as well. Unfortunately they were involved in a fender-bender on the way back to the city.

Paul drove to his conference in Boston, when meant that we could visit his mother on the drive back home. It was the weekend before Easter so we were able to attend Palm Sunday services at her church and join in a very nice potluck meal.

After a bi-coastal week with Paul conferencing in Boston and me conferencing in Los Angeles, I hopped a red eye to Boston.
LMA conference in Los Angeles
After some 16 no-fly years, I flew all the way to Los Angeles for the annual conference of the Legal Marketing Association.
