It was obvious early in 2008 that it would be difficult to find much time for camping, so when we were headed to the Washington, DC, area for
a memorial service for my aunt, we decided to see if there were possibilities for camping so we could be sure to have at least one weekend in the tent. We found the perfect spot at
Lake Fairfax Park, about five miles from my cousin's house. Between the family events, we got in a good hike around the lake and had some fun with the campfire, popping popcorn and
experimenting with campfire bread.
